Role: Conference Coordinator, Event Support/Staffing, Presenter
The Michigan Canvas Users Conference (MCUC) is the largest yearly gathering of Michigan-based educators, learning designers, support personnel and administrators using Canvas. In previous years, the conference has been hosted by Macomb Community College and Lawrence Technical University.
MCUC 2021 is a free conference that was hosted entirely online by Wayne State University and focused on providing equitable education to students in Michigan during an unprecedented pandemic. In less than six months, education has evolved and transformed; placing additional burden on instructional designers, educators, support personnel and administrators. Over 150 of our colleagues joined us as we discussed the evolution of education and how to design digital education experiences which address systemic inequity.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Vikki Katz, Rutgers University
Session topics:
Cultural and Racial equity in digital teaching environments
Re-defining student success while working online
Opportunities provided by Canvas APIs
K-12, Higher Education and IT Administration round table discussions
